2019年4月5日から全面公開しています。以前は入ることが出来なかった大正座敷や大蔵に展示の場所やコーナーを作りました。中に入り見学することができます。

近世の江戸における伊勢国出身の江戸店持ち商人は、「伊勢商人」と呼ばれていました。

長谷川家は、数多い江戸店持ち伊勢商人の中でも、いち早く江戸に進出して成功をおさめ江戸時代から現代に至るまで、その創業以来の地で脈々と営業を続けてきました。
The Hasegawa family was one of the popular Ise merchants in the Edo store, making earliest a successful entry into Edo, and since the Edo period to until recently, They have continued to operate in the land since our founding.
この錦絵は、「東都大伝馬街繁栄之図」歌川広重の作品です。江戸時代、良質な伊勢木綿は大いに流行り伊勢商人の多くが大伝馬町一丁目に軒を連ねていました。大半が伊勢商人で紺の暖簾(太鼓幕)から長谷川、小津、川喜田がよくわかります。
This Nishiki-e is a work of Utagawa Hiroshige called the "Painting of prosperity of Toto-Ohdenma Street”. During the Edo period, high-quality Ise cotton was very popular, and many Ise merchant stores were lined up in Ohdenma-cho 1-chome. Most of them was Ise merchants, and the Hasegawa, Ozu, and Kawakita well known by the dark blue noren (Taiko-maku).
江戸店持ち伊勢商人は、日本橋周辺の大伝馬町、本町、本石町、駿河町、堀留町等に店を構えましたが、特に大伝馬町一丁目には伊勢木綿(松坂木綿)を扱う店が集まっていました。
Ise merchants who opened stores in Edo set up stores in Ohdenma-cho, Hon-cho, Hongoku-cho, Suruga-cho, Horidome-cho, etc. of around Nihonbashi. In particular, stores dealing with Ise cotton (Matsusaka cotton) gathered in Ohdenma 1-chome.
18世紀初頭の大伝馬町一丁目の記録によれば、町内の木綿店74店のうち、伊勢国出身者が約6割を占めていました。その中でも松坂商人が最も多く、相可(多気町)、射和(松阪市)、津、若松(鈴鹿市)が松坂に次いでいました。

長谷川家の建造物群には、奇抜な意匠や華美な装飾はみられませんが、近世に建築された部分は重厚な構えを見せ、近代には良材を用いた上質の建築物となっています。

当家が創業以来大切に管理してきた87000点に及ぶ、商業資料・古文書・蔵書類・商業関係諸道具類・生活用具類など膨大な量の資料も極めて良好な状態で保存されています。
The vast amount of materials such as commercial materials, old documents, collections, commercial tools, and daily life items that have been carefully managed since founding of this family, preserved in a very good condition.

Former Ozu Residennce(Merchant Museum)
県指定有形文化財・松阪市指定史跡の旧小津清左衛門家です。
This is the Former Ozu Seizaemon Residence designated by Prefecture Tangible Cultural Property and Matsusaka City Historic Site.
創業の祖とされる小津清左衛門長弘は承応2年(1653)に大伝馬町一丁目に紙店「小津屋」を開業しました。

4代小津清左衛門長生は、紙問屋40余店を束ね、元禄11年(1698)には隣地へ木綿店「伊勢屋」を開業しました。宝暦5年(1755)には、三井家、長谷川家、長井家等とともに紀州藩松坂御為替御用を命じられ、天明4年(1784)には本町四丁目へ紙店「向店」を開業しています。

Former Residennce of Harada Jiro
郷土の篤志家 原田二郎旧宅を紹介します。
This is an introduction to Harada Jiro's former residence, which was a local Philanthropist.
原田二郎旧宅周辺は「同心町」と呼ばれ、紀州藩(伊勢の地の松坂・田丸・白子3領18万石の中心は松坂におかれていた)松坂領の町奉行所などに勤める家が並んでいました。
The area around Harada Jiro's former residence was called “Doshin-cho”, and there was a lined of houses that worked for the magistrate's office of Matsusaka of the Kishyu territory.
松坂町奉行所に勤める両親のもと、原田二郎は寺子屋や学問所などで漢学や国学や剣道、槍の使い方(槍術)などの文武の修行を積みました。
Harada Jiro, under his parents working in the magistrate's office of Matsusaka, trained in education and martial arts, such as Kanji, Kokugaku, Yari, and Ken, at Terakoya and academic institutions.
21歳の時に京都に上り、更に23歳の時東京に出て英語と医術を学びました。その後大蔵省勤め、31歳で横浜の第74国立銀行の頭取になり手腕を発揮します。
He went to Kyoto when he was 21 and went to Tokyo when he was 23 to learn English and medical skills. After that, he worked for the Ministry of Finance and became the head of the 74th National Bank of Yokohama when he was 31 years old.
54歳の時に明治の元勲 井上馨の依頼を受け、大阪の鴻池家と鴻池銀行の整理、再建にあたりました。71歳で再建に成功した後、その時得た莫大な退職金と全財産を全てつぎ込み、社会公益事業に対する助成団体「原田積善会」を設立しました。
At the age of 54, at the request of the Meiji's an elder statesman Inoue Kaoru, arranged and reorganized the Kounoike family and Kounoike Bank in Osaka. After successful reconstruction at the age of 71, he invested all of the enormous retirement allowances and all the assets he earned at that time, and established the “Harada Sekizenkai”, a subsidized organization for social utilities.
